Favorable future insights

Our diversified capabilities to integrate will reinforce Insta Advance’s position as a strategic partner to the Finnish Defence Forces, as we can combine and produce extensive system complexes and ensure the reliability of delivery for critical systems throughout their service life.

The internationally competitive products for kinetic influencing and advanced air defence command and control systems increase Insta’s opportunities on the international market, offering solid export potential for Finnish state-of-the-art expertise.

Positive developments are also expected to continue in customer relationships in the private sector in terms of both digitalization and cyber security services. Focusing on developing data capabilities and the opportunities for utilizing data, for example, allows us to meet our customers’ needs in an even more versatile manner.

Competence, trust, and cooperation build security for the future

Insta’s role as an actor in the security of supply chain and its capability to introduce new technology solutions into the defence and cyber security markets, for example, is based on special expertise accumulated in the long term, diversified partnerships, and active development work.

Continuous learning, expedited development, and the courage to apply what is new are essential for creating new capabilities. Continuous movement needs to be constant, and this movement is created together.

Defence 2025

As a long-term strategic partner of the Finnish Defence Forces, we have an important role in ensuring the security of supply and in securing industrial self-sufficiency.

Partnerships, development, and internationalization

The development of the defence industry continued strongly in 2025.

The scope of the strategic partnership with the Finnish Defence Forces developed favorably, and customer satisfaction grew substantially when compared to the previous year. The high customer satisfaction is based on reliability and high-quality operations, among other things.

International partnerships also developed favourably. We promoted the exports of our products and solutions into the NATO market according to plan. We signed several agreements, one of which was the cooperation agreement signed with Lockheed Martin that deepens and extends the cooperation beyond Finland’s F-35 fighter jet project.

International partnerships in product development

The Insta Steel Eagle™ ER drone solution, developed in collaboration with the Ukrainian industry, was introduced to a broader audience in early 2025. Collaboration and agile productization enable these capabilities and lessons to also be applied in domestic defence.

In the fall of 2025, we launched Insta DomainLink Secret™, a next-generation Cross Domain Solution (CDS) that was developed in cooperation with Lockheed Martin. It is a high-performance CDS for secure, real-time data exchanges between military network environments and systems. The solution is based on modern technology and enables real-time, secure two-way data transfers between various service branches, such as the army, navy, and air force, and between various security levels in the chain of command; this is especially important in multi-domain operations.

Diverse cooperation on research

Insta helps its customers succeed today and in the future. We actively take part in research consortia in Finland as well as internationally, and in projects funded by the European Defence Fund (EDF).

In 2025, the three-year research and development project SWARM-C3 (Command, Control, and Communications for Multi-X Swarms), where Insta is involved as the second Finnish organization, was under way. The project aims at developing a new operative concept for the management and control of autonomous, unmanned swarm systems that operate on land, at sea, and in the air.

The iMUGS2 project, which develops next-generation interoperable, unmanned land systems, also started in 2025. The project was started by the European Commission’s European Defence Fund (EDF). The iMUGS2 project builds on the achievements of the original iMUGS project, and the aim is to strengthen Europe’s autonomy and robotics capabilities by developing scalable, interoperable, and secure system architecture for both unmanned and manned platforms. Insta was also involved in the first iMUGS project.

Interest towards the defence sector continues to grow

The interest toward the defence sector and opportunities to secure Finnish society have grown, which continues to be reflected in recruitment. We succeeded in recruiting competent personnel in 2025, but the need to recruit experts will continue.

Insta’s versatile role reinforces overall security

Insta operates within the critical areas of society. As a strategic partner to the Finnish Defence Forces, our defence business generates security of supply by, for example, providing avionics service for the current F/A-18 and future F-35 fighter jets and delivering command and control systems and information security products. Creating domestic security of supply and production capabilities also plays a key role in the growing drone business.

2025 was an excellent year in terms of service development and profitable growth for our cyber security business. We focused on systematically reinforcing our competence and developing a new service offering – and managed to convince our customers. This could be seen in a significant number of new contracts with both current and new customers.

The good order backlog, expanded portfolio, and successful recruitment support our strategic objective for controlled and sustainable growth. Our expanded partner network, modern solutions, certified processes, and the know-how of 170 experts form a strong foundation for our customers to rely on for even the most demanding projects.

Based on the customer satisfaction survey conducted at the end of the year, customer satisfaction remained at a very high level. Our Net Promoter Score was 78, which indicates trust built in the long term and perceived added value. Our position as a valued, domestic cyber security operator was reinforced further.

Product and service development for future needs

Product and service development are key parts of our strategy. The most significant and visible result this year was the launch of the Insta SafeLink Secret device that reinforces our product family of encryption solutions and meets growing information security requirements.

At the same time, the development of data communications and PKI solutions proceeded according to plan. This creates concrete prerequisites for launching new solutions in 2026 and supports our position as a reliable, long-term operator.

Internationalization as part of our growth strategy

Internationalization is an important part of our growth strategy, and its promotion advanced during the year in accordance with the set targets. Partners play a key role in developing international business, and the customer base of our PKI services was expanded further.

We also gained new international customers in the field of information security consulting, and advanced the opportunities provided by Nato in relation to encryption solutions. Our know-how in cyber security is already being utilized in more than 50 countries and across all continents.
