Posiva has been developing a solution for the final disposal of nuclear fuel for more than 40 years and excavates deposition tunnels at a depth of 400–450 m underground. Soon, unmanned vehicles will move inside the tunnels and transport uranium assemblies encapsulated in a copper canister. The expert organization is the first in the world to start final disposal operations, and it relies on Insta in automation. Insta participates in the project in many ways – most importantly via the automation systems that it delivers.

Helen Oy’s Katri Vala heat pump plant in Helsinki is the world’s largest heat pump plant that produces district heat and cooling using purified wastewater, district cooling return water, and electricity. Located underground below the Katri Vala park, the heat pump plant has, in recent years, undergone large projects completed with Insta for expanding the scope and improving the reliability of automation. The automation system was recently expanded with the sixth and seventh heat pump whose total heating capacity can cover the need of more than 65,000 one-bedroom apartments.
