Technology company Insta has published its first Sustainability Report, demonstrating strong commitment to sustainable development, safety, and employee wellbeing. As an independent Finnish family-owned company – and a provider of solutions for a sustainable and secure future – reliability and responsibility are at the very core of Insta’s identity.
We ensure critical safety and operational continuity in industry, defence, software development, and cybersecurity. We are a reliable partner that our customers can always rely on when the smooth functioning of society is essential.
Climate actions, safety development, and building trust advancing strongly
Insta’s sustainability targets for 2025–2030 are built around five mutually reinforcing themes: climate change, occupational safety, employee experience, security and preparedness, and good governance.
The key results show concrete progress in climate work, safety, and trust-building:
Reduction of Scope 1 & 2 emissions: At Insta’s Sarankulma campus, the transition to fully renewable district heating and carbon-free electricity has significantly reduced the company’s carbon footprint – moving towards a 90% emissions reduction by 2030.
Occupational safety: LTIF accident frequency decreased to 2.1, already below the 2030 target level.
Employee experience: The company-wide eNPS score rose to a record-high 39, approaching the 2030 target of 40.
Customer satisfaction: NPS increased to an excellent 63, and 78% of customers feel Insta has supported them very well or well in achieving their sustainability goals.
Ethical business conduct: 99% of personnel completed ethics-related training, and supplier commitment to Insta’s ethical guidelines continues progressing toward the 2030 target.

Insta’s President and CEO Tapio Kolunsarka emphasizes the importance of collaboration and the commitment of all employees.
“Meaningful impact stems from collaboration and trust. Our sustainability work is progressing excellently, and the journey continues. Insta’s responsibility and reliability are something stakeholders can count on – now and in the future.”
For Insta, sustainability means above all operating in a reliable and safe way. We care for people and wellbeing at work, reduce environmental impacts, act transparently and ethically across the entire value chain, and build sustainable solutions for customers and society with measurable goals. By safeguarding the operational reliability of critical infrastructure, we have a direct impact on people’s functional capacity and wellbeing.
We are shaping a better world – not only through technology but also through ecologically sustainable practices.
Everyday actions and a strong learning mindset
Progress has been achieved through long-term development driven by measurable data. Goals are integrated into everyday work, progress is regularly monitored, and actions are taken collaboratively with employees and partners.
This includes investments in energy efficiency and low-emission solutions, systematic safety work (guidelines, orientation, observation, and monitoring), as well as embedding ethical practices through training and supplier requirements.
Customers value reliability above all
Our customer NPS increased by six points to an excellent 63 (2024: 57). Reliability as a supplier received a rating of 4.4. Customers especially appreciate Insta’s dependable operations, strong professional competence, and smooth collaboration — and in all these areas, we performed better than ever before.
We achieved our targets, but the work continues. Continuous improvement, willingness to learn, and deep customer understanding form the foundation for long-term and genuine partnerships.
