Helsingin Energia will modernize its Lassila heating station, which is one of the peak load and reserve heating stations feeding the main district heating network of the city of Helsinki.

The heating station houses two 120 MW and two 47 MW boilers, and the maximum output is thus 334 MW.

Insta’s delivery comprises the basic design and installation of the new automation as a turnkey project, including the Siemens PCS7 automation system, field equipment, boiler protection system approved to IEC 61508, and the connection of the local automation to remote control system.

The project will be completed on 15 December 2010 and it will employ five to eight people from Insta.
