Finnish Military Aviation Authority (FIMAA) has awarded Insta ILS Military Production Organisation Approval (MPOA). The approval is based on the military aviation regulation published by the FIMAA, which is based on the common European Military Airworthiness Requirements (EMAR). This certificate grants Insta ILS to perform military aviation production work independently in accordance with EMAR-21 requirements.
– Insta's own production certificate facilitates the approval and introduction of products manufactured for military aviation. This certificate and the forthcoming EMAR-145 military aviation maintenance organisation approval will also ease Insta to take part in joint European projects. Having an internationally recognized certificate means common standards between participating parties. The new certificates are a continuation of decades standing cooperation between the Finnish Defence Forces and Insta Group, acknowledges Director of Military Aviation Authority, Colonel Kim Juhala.
Opens doors for international business
Underlying EMAR requirements is the need to harmonize common approaches to military aviation in different countries. It requires that organizations have appropriate approvals, whether they perform maintenance, production or design activities. The production approval requires appropriate processes and training which are set by the Military Aviation Authority. In addition, Production Organisation Handbook has been prepared, in which the processes are described and thus can be found.
– Military Production Organisation Approval is a significant demonstration of the credibility and quality of the work we have done at Insta. Now we have military aviation design, production and maintenance approvals. This gives us opportunities to expand our operations and makes us interesting for international military aviation markets, states Insta ILS Vice President, Aviation Alex Lassila.
Enhances aviation safety
MPOA certificate contributes proactively to development of military aviation safety and new practices to ensure continuous improvement of the actions. EMAR regulations have been harmonized in Europe and the application of EMAR approvals is in responsibility of each country’s military aviation authority. In civil aviation, similar common European requirements have been in use for a long time.
