Valmet and Intopalo Digital cybersecurity experts created a certified secure product development process

ISASecure and exida have certified the product development methods of Valmet DNA automation systems with the IEC 62443-4-1 and ISASecure SDLA cybersecurity certificates. This standard is the most important industrial cybersecurity standard that concerns product development. The certificate proves that Valmet’s R&D methods meet all 47 requirements from the 8 practices of the standard, ranging from secure development, security testing on multiple levels, software releasing and cybersecurity maintenance.

Cybersecurity specialists from Intopalo Digital, Insta’s division that focuses on the intelligent industry, were working together with Valmet’s experts to develop the certified product development method, including its tools and learning packages and to apply the methods to Valmet’s products. The modern method is based on DevOps principles and wide usage of tools and automation that assist the R&D engineers in applying the process.

Valmet is currently at the Teknologia 19 event at the Helsinki Messukeskus, showcasing their latest automation technology. You can also learn more about Valmet’s cybersecurity offering at the Valmet stand 6e50.
