Insta takes part in the iMUGS (integrated Modular Unmanned Groud System) project that is operating under the European Defence Industrial Development Programme (EDIDP). The project spans over several years and is funded by the European Commission. The aim of the project is to develop a modular and scalable architecture for the defence forces of European countries for manned and unmanned systems that can be utilized in a wide range of tasks. The project is led by Milrem Robotics and involves several states, research institutes and companies.
Insta will bring its special knowledge of the swarm intelligence and autonomous swarm behavior to the project. In the research phase of the project the main responsibility for Insta is to develop distributed swarming functionalities. The developed algorithms will help individual platforms to run parallel to achieve a common goal.
European Defence Industrial Development program´s main goal is to support and promote European Union´s strategic autonomy and strengthen co-operation between the member states of the European Union.
